Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream
The Foreign Graduate Entrepreneur Stream (FGES) is an economic immigration program under the Alberta Advantage Immigration Program (AAIP).
It offers a pathway to permanent residence for qualified foreign-educated graduates from outside Canada who wish to launch start-up enterprises and innovative businesses in Alberta.
Eligibility
- A post-secondary degree completed outside Canada within the last 10 years.
- A minimum of 6 months of full-time work experience in managing or owning a business, or equivalent experience with a business incubator or accelerator.
- A minimum Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) level of 5 in English or French.
- A comprehensive business plan with financial projections.
- A minimum investment of $100,000 for urban centers or $50,000 for regional areas.
- At least 34% ownership if the business is located in an urban center, or at least 51% ownership if located outside Calgary or Edmonton.
- Sufficient funds to establish the business and support themselves and their families in Canada.
